Major hospitals across the United States are launching specialized longevity clinics to capitalize on the rapidly growing anti-aging health market, STAT News reported. Longevity medicine is now estimated to be a multitrillion dollar industry, attracting significant interest from biotech startups and investors. [1]

As FTMQ Health reported earlier, major nonprofit hospitals are opening these clinics with annual costs reaching up to 45,000 dollars per year for patients. These facilities perform personalized assessments that evaluate physical fitness alongside organ trajectories, specifically focusing on the heart, brain, and lungs. [3]

Biological aging, also known as senescence, involves the gradual deterioration of functional characteristics in living organisms over time. Research into delaying this process has been motivated by findings such as a 1934 study showing calorie restriction extended mouse lifespans by 50 percent, as well as the existence of species with negligible senescence. [2]

While medical interventions such as rapamycin have successfully extended the lifespan of mid-life mice by 9 to 14 percent in research settings, experts caution that radical human life extension beyond 115 to 125 years remains unlikely during this century, as FTMQ Health reported earlier. [3]
