The South Korean government is moving to establish a health and medical development plan for the first time this year, 재경일보 reported. The initiative comes 26 years after the Framework Act on Health and Medical Services was enacted without being implemented. [1]

According to 재경일보, the Ministry of Health and Welfare intends to prepare a draft of the plan next month. The ministry will then gather feedback and consult with relevant agencies regarding the proposed framework. [1]

Health is a multidimensional concept that commonly refers to physical and emotional well-being. Good health is associated with the normal functioning of the human body in daily life without disease, pain, or injury. [4]

재경일보 reported that the final plan will be submitted to a Cabinet meeting for approval within the year. The government plans to begin full implementation of the strategy in 2027. [1]
