A maternal mental health charity named Frome Birth Talk may be forced to close its waiting list if it cannot secure urgent funding by Sunday, the BBC reported. The charity requires 10,000 pounds to prevent cuts to its counselling services. [1]

According to the BBC, the charity recently lost a bid for funding, which put its services at risk. Frome Birth Talk provided professional counselling support to more than 155 mothers during 2026. [1]

Suzy Cristinacce, the director of the charity, stated that an increasing number of people are experiencing mental health challenges. Beneficiaries of the service, including Sarah N'Guio, reported that the counselling provided critical assistance after experiencing birth trauma. [1]

If the organization fails to raise the required funds by the deadline, it will have to cut back on the support it offers to new mothers, the BBC reported. [1]
