Many supplements marketed to perimenopausal and menopausal women are severely overpriced and lack meaningful doses of recommended nutrients, PULSE Today reported on October 12, 2026. The findings come from an analysis conducted by the consumer group Which?. [1]

The analysis evaluated 26 supplements sold by popular retailers, including Holland & Barrett, Boots, and Amazon. The investigation found that none of the tested products met the necessary standards to be recommended. [1]

Menopause marks the end of the reproductive phase for women as menstrual periods permanently stop due to a decrease in estrogen and progesterone. The natural transition typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, with a median age of 51 years recorded in the United States. [2][3]

Perimenopause precedes menopause and is characterised by fluctuating hormone levels and irregular cycles. Common symptoms include hot flashes and night sweats, which affect 75 to 80 percent of women during this phase. [2][3]
